I still go through back issue boxes. Mainly the 90's boxes since those I remember collecting 

I do.  I am still wanting to collect Saga 1-10.  I have the rest.  But still looking for issues 1-10.

Excellent! I keep hearing that the back issue market isn't great, BUT I LOVE the classics!

Yeah.  I like collecting.  But for some stuff I just grab a TP and then collect from that point.  But if it's a very good series like Saga,  I want them all... And no second printings.

Digging through back issues is great and that feeling of completing a series is sweet as well. I'm very much into my single issues so can get into a pickle with the odd expensive comic. I do get the impression not as many people collect older issues as they used to this could be down to a multitude of factors space, money, going digital etc.

I recently completed the run of Y the last man and reread them. What a wonderful series.

I've heard that it's a good series. I'll have to check that out.

I love going thru back issue boxes. The anticipation and exileration of finding what I'm looking for. Sounds nerdy, but it is what it is 

I don't often go through back issue boxes anymore, which is really sad, but that's only because I've collected most of the series/runs that I'm looking for (doesn't mean I have everything, just that I have the key issues I was after). 

Having said that, when I found my first comic shop many years ago, the exhilaration of digging through to find those all important missing issues was mind-blowing.

So was the disappointment when I'd realise how much my stash was going to cost (normally at least double the amount of pennies I had on me).

Every now and again I do find myself trawling the back issue bins just for the hell of it :)

I do my monthly order through mail order, so pretty much the only reason I hit a shop is for back issue digging. I love it. It's relaxing and cathartic for me. I only have mild success because a lot of what I'm looking for is pretty random stuff at this point (as happens after 25+ years of collecting), but I almost always walk away with something.

I hate that a lot of comic shops don't really have white boxes to go through anymore. Gotta have all that room for card tables. That's why I love my LCS. There's like 50 boxes to go through and the owner buys a couple lots a month. Regulars get first pick at the new stuff.

The shop where I "volunteer" has back issue boxes along the floor, below the racks, throughout the store, in alphabetical order. If I were to guess (because I never counted) there are easily 200 to 300 boxes around the floor, and I might be low-balling that guess.  Literally THOUSANDS of back issues.

That's how my LCS used to be. It just became a pain to go through the boxes stacked everywhere though, so the owner took like 2/3 of them out. Since most his inventory is kept in storage, he cycles in/out 5 or 6 boxes a month, plus the lots he buys, so it always feel fresh to look through his stuff. 

Replenishing back issues is one of the things I do there. It's pretty great to see some of the stuff that comes in.

I always find myself drawn to Vol 1 of Amazing Spider-Man. One of the first ever issues I bought was the second story line of Venom, have been hooked ever since.

on back issues i am trying to do short runs now especially from the bronze age such as Man-Thing vol 1, swamp thing vol 1,  i have completed several runs.  still trying to save for Avengers #1 of volume 1, its the only one missing in the entire run.  have the rest up to date.  I even just completed Deadman  1985 done by Neal Adams,  Complete Warlock first volume from Marvel..    There are so many runs out there.  I still purchase some from silver age as well

I've been getting the TPs for the old Mage series. It's kind of cool to read it again. Other than that I don't generally get the old stuff aside from the odd issue here or there. My LCS does have quite a bit though. I actually would like to start hunting down a particular series. I liked the Justice League America in the 1990s with the art by Chuck Wojtkiewicz. I had some of them back in the day. I really liked his style but it's not for everyone. I especially liked how he drew Wonder Woman.

Ongoings go until they are announced cancelled or stop showing up in the solicitations, so you never really know.
