The Immortal Hulk #25
The Future Informs The Present

Interesting interlude and homage to Alan Moore's classic Swamp Thing story, "Loving The Alien". Fitting, since Al Ewing's Immortal Hulk is fast becoming a spiritual successor to Saga of the Swamp Thing.

Ewing is in it for the long haul, and so am I. I may not always know exactly everything that's going on...but I want to find out. This issue helped to clarify (in my mind) that the Hulk eventually becomes nothing but a an immortal physical vessel for The One Below All. But for now, the Devil Hulk seems tied to Bruce Banner, which I believe is the reason he goes to great lengths to protect him. Their psyches are entwined, even though this is the most foreign Hulk of all. I would argue that Banner must eventually come to terms with the nature of this new Hulk...but for now they appear to be aligned in motive and in action.

Glad to be moving forward from the previous storyline and into the next, to discover what other dark secrets this incredible creative team has in store. Ready for the next volume in the Saga of the Immortal Hulk.
