Well I was a little worried about this one but it was actually pretty good. For the first like quarter or third of the issue I wasn't really interested, but that ramped up pretty quick. This is my first impression of owning something done by Joelle Jones and I've got to say, I'm pretty impressed. Being on both art and writing duties she did well in both areas; with great assistance by colourist Rachel Allred. While Jones doesn't have my favourite art style I really enjoyed what I saw in this first issue. I can't say I love the art yet though. This issue did feel like it was kind of trying to set up too much but we'll see how it plays out, the follow through is what counts for me. This first arc is called "Copycats" which is an intriguing story concept for a character such as Catwoman to face. It surprisingly works quite well here. It seems to be a plan set up by a woman we meet this issue. This character was all dressed up for a press conference but when she was through she started taking off her fake clothes, hair, and even body parts to reveal a woman that look quite twisted in appearance. This sequence with this character might have been my favourite part visually in this issue. There was some setup here with some new cop characters after one of their own get killed for a revenge plotline. Of course the killer is one of Selina's copycats, she is getting framed for plenty of crimes at the moment and was actually confronted by the cops. It was interesting to see how long they took in the issue to address the whole marriage situation (2018=The year of failed weddings lol.) I can't wait to read more of this series!
