Welp, this was very good. I thought I would like this one because of the characters involved, yet I am still kind of surprised that this was a great start to this series. I really enjoy Bryan Hill's writing, and he didn't disappoint me here. I have also been a fan of Syzmon Kudranski's art, and it was really good in this first issue. This would definitely be in my top tree for the new Dawn of x titles based on the first issues.

The one thing that kind of bug me is that it almost feels like Laura (X-23) is taking a step back in character development. I feel like she should be more accepting of the situation with Krakoa. She almost feels more like earlier days Laura, as she even says she wants to be out of Logan's shadow; but she had been. Plus she has Gabby now; although we have no indication of Gabby in this issue.

Kwannon is now back in her body again, and keeping the name of Psylocke. Psylocke gets a vision telling her she needs to kill someone named Apoth. Kwannon gathers Cable and X-23 for her mission, but Laura won't allow Cable to go with them at first. Through flashback, we learn that Kwannon has a kid out there marked with a purple butterfly; eventually Kwannon psychically informs X-23 about her kid. There is a new mechanical drug out there called Overclock, and apparently Apoth is responsible for this. We see Apoth cause the death of four children, speaking to Psylocke and X-23 through the last; wanting their own sick form of peace. Sinister has been the one helping Kwannon get off the Island, as no one is allowed in or out right now because of Xaviers death in X-Force #1. For the continued help, Kwannon promises Sinister he'll get to experiment on Apoth before she kills them. They officially recruit Cable to the team, and the issue ends with Pyslocke asking Cable and X-23 to find them more teammates they can trust.

This was a great start. Can't wait to see where this goes!
