War of the Realms: Journey Into Mystery #1

I liked this overall, but I've gotta say that I was kind of disappointed in this. I thought this was a bit of a weak first issue; besides the characters themselves I'm not that invested so far. I'm hoping this gets better as it goes along. I also didn't like the art/colourist team that much.

The issue begins in the present, with the team trying to escape this hellish truck following them.

We then go back to a few days before, where we are introduced to Thor and Balder's new baby sister, Laussa Odinsdottir. Laussa is the kid of Freyja and Odin. when the War of the Realms begins in Manhatten, Cindr threatens the life of Laussa (and knows where she is), so Balder grabs Miles Morales and Thori and goes to save her. They arrive at Thor's Castle in Oklahoma and retrieve Laussa from Gaia. Skuld the Silent Norn tells of the members who will join their mission; although they think it's Clint Barton, Doctor Strange, Deatlok, and Wonder Man; instead of Kate Bishop, Doctor Druid, Death Locket, and Wonder Man. We see how everyone is recruited; with Simon and Sebastian almost desperate to join a cause.

We go back to the present where Simon won't invoke violence to get the people in the truck to back off, because he is still a pacifist. Just because he doesn't hit living beings, doesn't mean he can't hit concrete; so Simon destroys the road. The issue ends with Ares stepping out of the truck.

Intrigued to see where this goes!
