This one was bad. Really wonky and virtually incomprehensible. A lot of highs and lows throughout Morrison's run for me. I'll keep reading, but this issue was a stinker, despite Sharp's consistently great art (except for the weird creature design, which also stunk).

Based on his first season, I'm trying to be patient. I remember each issue I was just confused as I was reading it, but then when I closed the book I was like, "Wait...I know a story happened, but I don't remember it happening?" Then at the end of the season thinking again that it told a comprehensive story throughout, but I just had no idea when the stuff actually occurred. Like, I could summarize the story (when it was fresh), but while I was going through a first read I couldn't tell you which parts were important to know or why stuff was happening. I praise him for his creative approach, although I agree that it's kind of frustrating to read, especially in single issue. I heard that DC trimmed season 2 from 12 issues to 8, so hopefully he'll be a little more succinct in his storytelling process.

This is great. Rykaktoro of Karalyx is such an awesome character. Love the whole primate evolution symbolism alongside the Genesis of the Young Guardians. Morrison toys with interesting concepts while telling a pulp scifi cop story. It's awesome and Sharp is just so talented. Love the crazy settings and Rykaktoro's simple little face makes me chuckle.

Subpar drawings with dull, repetitive writing and an uninteresting story. This is such a bland, cliché-filled retelling of Supe's origin.

This is phenomenal. Super tragic and the characters are so well-written. I'm genuinely impressed by the story. This series seems like a bit of buried treasure to me.

This one's really cool! The premise is solid and it doesn't seem to be pulling any punches. Lotta deaths already and clearly many more to come. Love the repeated "there are no monsters" line and theme. Art's iffy, but the roughness kinda fits the tone.
