Another welcome return after the switch to digital only madness at Marvel. There has been a lot of talk about how this series doesnt accurately portray Doctor Doom. Not something i agree with but nonetheless its something...

A solid first issue. Not a classic by any means but well worth a look if you have any interest in the Juggernaut or his place in the new X-Men universe. I enjoy Nicoeza's writing so i expect this will be an enjoyable...

Still dissapointed that Dale Keown isnt the main artist on this series. But literally that is my only complaint about this book. What a story Peter David is crafting here.  There is an inevitability to this series....

Agreed about Keown. Still enjoying the art, but so much more fitting if Dale could take the reins. Definitely feels less tragic and more fulfilling, as you mentioned. You’re almost eager to see it happen.

This series just keeps cranky on full blast each month.  I'm not usually a fan of stories that take place in characters minds or dreams or, as we see here, surreal afterlife. But Al Ewings writing really does manage...

Well said. I can’t remember the last time I felt so consistently thrilled reading a series. Feels like anything can happen, in the best possible way. He keeps turning the mythology on its head while somehow still revisiting, reinvesting, and reinforcing it. Masterfully done; a perfect blend.

  • I think i'm probably going to be in the minority here but i was kind of underwhelmed by this.  To be clear this was a decent book. Entertaining high adventure and intrigue with some nice artwork although i did find...

Apocalypse is the protagonist, not a hero. Apocalypse has always stated his goals were to create the strongest mutants, regardless of what it takes to achieve those goals, hence the moment with Archangel in the story. The story is doing a good job expanding on Apocalypse by detailing a moment of weakness from his past and putting his ethos to the test with the incoming duels.

After the debacle that was the 2020 series I was dubious about picking this up. In the end i bought it because of the Alex Ross Timelsss variant cover woth no great optimism that the book would be worth reading. But i was...
  • ObsessedNerd
Well this was a surprise.  This was a random pick up based only on Mike Deodato JR being the artist. But what i got was a very entertaining well written comic book. This pure noir storytelling. It's dark and gritty...

This was certainly better than expected and has me interested for the following issues. Breaking Bad meets soccer mom in a very gritty take. Again, these AWA titles are awesome.

  • ObsessedNerd
The tension continues to build and gathers pace. I havent read any of the other titles published by AWA but based on this series they are certainly worth looking at. I'm not familiar with Christa Faust's writing...

The epic 1000th anniversary of the Dark Knight? Can someone explain to me what was epic about this book other than the effort i had to force myself to make to actually finish reading it? I'm very open about the fact...

That was a trully terrible comic book. I used to love this series but i dropped it  along time ago because Humpries took what was a darkly comedic and quite complex character and turned it into a really crap 1950's...

The new Harley cartoon is very adult and funny, worth checking out for sure.

I'm surprised at how much i enjoyed this issue. A couple of page sin and i thought this was just going to be a forgettable filler issue. Whil ei tmight be considered as a filler it certainly wasnt forgettable. ...
  • The penultimate chapter in the series and at last the team finally defeat Ras Al Ghul. Or at least Black Lightning and Orphan did. The rest of them just seemed to kind of stand aorund and watch which was a little dissapointing....

I was not crazy about the ending, maybe because I know the next issue is the last. I've been pretty disappointed in Hill's job on the title as a whole and I am a huge fan of his.

  • That was 100% one of the worst comics i have ever read. There was virtually no story in this book and what there was was extremely over written. This plot could have been told in half as many pages. Every single page was...

I didnt even pick up on that about Mon-El. I was so distracted by the artwork.

  • ObsessedNerd
I'm going to say it again. It is an absolute tragedy that this book hasnt caught more attention and is soon to be cancelled.  Consistently one of the best books on my pull list each month and this one certainly...

I am with you on this, it felt like post year of the villain this really found its stride, its a genuine shame this can't go on. This issue was great again, the right blend of action, emotion, plot and in this case nostalgia.
  • ObsessedNerd
I enojyed this issue but it felt like something wa smissing between #2 and this issue. Was there a #2.5 that i dont know about? The last issue finsihed with the cliffhanger of Owen and Kellie facing down a house full of...

Yeah you're right. I take that back. I guess those last few pages didnt make much of an impression on me when i read it. I remembered it ending with Kellies entrance. Still a good book though.
