  • Wow, this was a lot of fun. Saladin Ahmed is a great writer, everyone knows it, and I was excited to see what he'd do with Spider-Man, but I wasn't expecting him to go full 80's. The way he delivers exposition...

I loved it. The symbiote has gotten so much development in the last 20 years, it's only fitting that we get some perspective from it that happened at the beginning. In the 90s the symbiote didn't have a voice of its own, really. I dunno, I thought this was interesting and actually makes the symbiote a more sympathetic character in retrospect.

I know everyone is still pissed at king for the wedding thing, and I'll admit I wasn't happy about it either, but damn. He has been killing it on this book since the 'wedding', every issue since #51 has been...

Agree. Cold Days was fantastic and waiting to see how it all goes.

Hey, something finally beat Spider-Man for pick of the week! I knew this day would come.  I was a huge fan of Kelly Thompson's Hawkeye, so I was pretty bummed when it got canceled. Here we are though, with a book...

In her solo series, Gwenpool wasn't only destroying things and annoying people, not many writers get this. But I still agree with what you said. Solid first issue.

Edit: And this is coming from someone that hates Deadpool, but read every Gwenpool issue.

Green Arrow is one of my favorite superheroes, but I dropped off the book after Percy left because I assumed the following fill-in arcs weren't going to be anything to write home about. It seems that wasn't a terrible...

I miss the Roy and Wally Titans.  I may have to start reading this to get my Roy fix.  Here's hoping he gets a reliably steady support role.

The Fantastic Four are one of my favorite superhero teams ever, and the Waid and Hickman runs are some of my favorite comics of all time. Frankly, it's been too long since they've had their own title.  I understand...

The book felt very underwhelming. Dialogue sounded right but superficial. The art was pretty uninspiring. I actually like Pichelli but this felt like a rushed effort. Alot of the panels were very dull and almost sketchy. I was really excited about the return of the Fantastic Four! I was ready to jump into an adventure with the original Marvel family but this felt like an adequate effort. Feels like this really deserved alot more!

When Supergirl Rebirth started, I gave it a few issues to grab me. Ultimately I dropped it, Orlando's story never did anything for me, and I thought the synergy with the tv show was very forced. Now with the new status...

I was the same with Supergirl Rebirth. I got the 1st issue and decided it was not for me. I did come back a few times. The Emerald Empress story and that wasn't bad. Eventually I came back for the Artgerm covers and those stories weren't too too bad either. Orlando just isn't my favorite writer. He's ok. The first issue of this new direction and I'm impressed. Maguire's the man!

That title is kind of a joke, but in all seriousness, this book has been my pick of the week every time it's come out, and I almost try to avoid choosing this book now because I start thinking I should give it to something...

I've liked Tom King's run a lot so far, but it's admittedly had its low points (Specifically I Am Suicide, War of Jokes and Riddles). That said, when he hits a high point, he really knocks the hell out of it....

Bettie B? That's amazing! Didn't see that. But can totally tell it's her now that I think about it

I've been up and down on Williamson's Flash run pretty much the whole way through. It seems that I'm on board for one arc and loving it, then the next arc feels like it's written by an amateur, and the switch...

I agree with most everything you say here. It's because of Williamson's up and down quality that I've bought this series only off and on. He definitely did an awesome job on Flash War. Howard Porter rocks! I was not a fan of  Carmine Di Giandomenico and that has been an even larger reason I havn't been getting every issue. Also all those forces ARE really lame. I'm not planning to get future issues unless something really pulls me in. Although the reveal at the end has got me interested. I'm going to try Williamson's Justice League Odyssey though. Fingers crossed he does well with that.

The only works of Coates' that I've read were the first four issues of Black Panther, which I really didn't enjoy. Knowing that he was coming to do Cap, I wasn't excited, but I was willing to give it a shot....

    Madukks reviewed Venom #3
I wasn't super impressed by the last issue of this series. It felt really over-expository and frankly, kind of boring (which supports my theory that second issues are almost never great on their own). It just didn't...

I’m impressed with the book as a whole, but the art is incredible. Venom books are usually pretty dark, but this takes it to a whole new level. This is like The Dark Knight Batman movie kind of dark. Stegman is killing it.
