All-New Captain America #1
July 16th, 2018
This review contains spoilers. Proceed at your own risk.

All-New Cap starts by building on Sam Wilson by playing up to not only the mythology of Steve Rogers, but also his father, a preist. Both, in fact, share the same message that the ethos of being Captain America is about. This issue might be a little heavy handed with that, but it clearly s trying to establish Sam as the immediate successor to Steve very quickly.

Everything else about the issue works for me. Immonen's art is always a treat for me, and the aerial combat as Sam descends into the Hydra base is cool, if at times hard to get fully immersed into. I am also a fan of Remender, but the pacing of the issue also makes me wonder if there was some executive desires at Marvel to make this issue just to get it out there.

Regardless, it's still nice to read, packs good action into it's panels, and throws a clever curveball or two while leaving plenty of reasons to keep reading into issue 2...
