Sleepless #1 Review
February 19th, 2018

It’s odd to say that a comic with the title Sleepless reads like a bedtime story, and yet here we are. There’s something about the way this story unfolds that is meditative without being boring.

The art style is detailed but sedately paced. The colors are rich, but muted. The shadows are dramatic and give the panels depth.

Events happen in the story. You get a sense of place and the main conflict, along with distinct characters. Yet it all feels like a half-remembered dream.

It’s hard to even express why I liked this as much as I did. It almost sounds like it would be boring, but I guarantee that it’s not. It’s just difficult to describe how I felt reading this comic besides the fact that it made me feel something new.

I’m interested to see if the creators can keep up this kind of feeling across multiple issues. I can’t wait to find out.
