Coyotes #1 Review
November 11th, 2017

This story was confusing AF to follow. I thought the guy was doing the inner monologue, and it took a few pages to determine who was actually talking. Then we're abruptly taken to a flashback without any illustrative or written indication. Sounds like this issue is trying to set up the series, introducing the players, yet I have no idea who the "them" is in the "us vs them" expository dialogue.

I have a rough idea of what's going on in the story, but only because I read the solicitation description beforehand. Still, by the end of the book, I have no idea what's going on. And was that b&w back-up story an actual back-up? I wasn't sure if the main story ended and the back-up started. This series seems like it's got some promise, but it's just poorly structured. Poorly planned. The art looks really good, but my guess is that most of the direction in terms of panel layout is taken from the writer as some of the pages are difficult to follow or understand.

Hated It
