As a lover of sci-fi, this book has an excellent premise that really intrigued me.  Unfortunately, the writing and character development are quite poor.  The story unfolds in a way that feels as if the writer was...

This trade was $9.99 which is worthy to note. There are 3 more trades after this one (so something must have gone right). Tho I do agree the males all look the same, and you have to look for their clothes to distinguish them at times... There is a lot of underlying motives that aren't readily apparent and only seem surface-value on the first read. I'd give it 4/5 and hope the readers on this post continued with the series to see how this all "fleshes" out.... ehem. :)

Anyone hear or have a guess when Saga might return?  The last official news that I can find was way back in April

It ended on way too much of cliffhanger to just drop it...right? Right?!  <fingers crossed>

  • This was the first Lemire book (outside of Extradorinary X-Men) that didn't really grab me.  That's not to say it was bad, it wasn't. It has all the hallmarks we've come to expect from Lemire; excellent...

What did everyone think of season 2 of The Punisher on Netflix?

Personally, I like Bernthal's portrayal of Frank Castle, but I felt the storytelling in season 2 was quite poor. I found it rather boring for long stretches.  Juggling two concurrent stories just made them both feel half baked.  But my biggest gripe was what they did with Jigsaw. I could rail against how he was no where near grotesque enough, but the worst part is they made him a whiny little snot instead of scary and unhinged.

Part A of season 2 of Daredevil is still the best Punisher on screen, IMHO.  Although I did enjoy season 1 of The Punisher as well.

    Deathblow #1

I remember reading this when it first came out and liking it a lot. As such, I was looking into picking it up again to see how it withstood the test of time.  In my research on this particular issue, I discovered that this character has a very confusing history, perhaps across multiple publishers?  The character started on Image, but then there's a DC version with the same name? ...

This is definitely worth it - the original Image run, that is. Jim Lee art at first, then Tim Sale doing a Frank Miller/Sin City impression. The story is like an 80s action movie - opposing factions, lots of bullets, religious secret societies. It’s amazing in the way only 90s Image can be!
