Kill Lock #2 Review

This was a fantastic second issue.

The thing I love about these issues is that they’re packed and there’s no wasted space or filler.  I just finished catching up on Once & Future and it feels like I’m only really getting 10 pages worth of comic and then a bunch of bland filler.  From the art to the dialogue, this series is delivering from the first page to the last.

We got a nice flashback scene of the laborer showing that his drinking addiction caused him to make a mistake that killed a lot of robots.  We were given more detail about the child, that he was sentenced to death simply because he was labeled as defective.

I can’t say enough about the art in this series.  The fact that they’re robots but you can see every little bit of emotion that they’re feeling shows wonders.  The excitement when the wraith threw the robots arm on top of the roof for the child was awesome.

The conversations are fluid and natural, incredibly well done.  The writer also does a great job at having you invested in every altercation or situation that the robots get themselves into.  I’m just super impressed by this little series thus far and wish every comic could live up to this level of writing and artwork.
