Batman stars in "Deathmask!" When an ancient mask is displayed in Gotham City, it has strange effects on certain people. The mask of Matichuma is said to give its wearer power over all and so it is no surprise when someone steals the mask and clashes with Batman. The Caped Crusader discovers his opponent is now doing extraordinary things and it is now evident that the mask is controlling the person, rather than the person underneath being in control. Learning that the mask always gave its wearer death dealing powers in the past and that warriors who wore it always led their tribes to victory, Batman closes in on its current encumbent. However, before he can get to him, he is shot dead by a know associate. Turns out that the killer of the man wearing the Matichuma mask held a grudge...
