Loved it. Lots of great lore and throwbacks to the good old days before the New 52. I loved seeing the Outsiders together... and Mr. Terrific with his trademark Jacket back on. This is a great start!
I'm not super into the Batman elements, but I think this is going to be great for the DCU!

I agree about All-Star Batman, but I've loved Tynion's run on Detective Comics, so I'm still excited for this.
Yeah, Snyder is OK... But Tynion IV's work on Detective Comics is top notch. And I have liked All-Star Batman a little more than some others.
Why do you cringe when you see crossovers? What's the point of being a connected universe if they don't talk to each other? Plus, this is a self contained thing with no tie-ins, just prologue issues and then Metal.
Dude...It's Snyder and James Tynion...THE 2 BEST Batman writers working in the biz...I think this will rock!

Yes I do read All-Star Batman. I like it a little man re than others. But not my favorite. My favorite Batman is Detective Comics.

Looking forward to this but I have to say my fave Batman writer (current) is still Tom King. No offense to Snyder, I obviously need to catch up on his works as well.
I love what King is doing. I think Tynion IV is the best Batman writer currently. IMHO. But love Tom King!
I'm with flash232. King is my favorite current Batman writer. However, Tynion is writing a completely different style of book. Scripting for teams doesn't compare to single characters. I like both of them, however.
Detective Comics is my favorite Bats book right now. I wasn't a big fan of All Star Batman after the first 2 issues but I picked up issue 10 and it was much better (not sure if I'll pick up the last 2 issues). I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what they do here. It's my understanding that this one-shot is a lead in for another mini that will come later. That Jim Lee cover though--AWESOME!!
Am I the only one scared of these guys messing up DC stories all over again? This issue was ok, but what may come from all the turns, twists, misteries and "revelations" to come?

Wow wow this comic was so great! So many mysteries and questions! Now this is how you start to set up an event and make it connect to past continuity. Looking forward to the issue. Snyder can do no wrong!

Because it's not bad. It feels like the story gets rushed a bit, but its not bad. If they had 6-8 issues to tell a story as opposed to the 4-5 he is doing now, it may be a bit better. But I just don't see the point of having a seperate All Star title, when you can have multiple writers on one book, and do what Rucka did to WW by telling 2 storys at the same time.
I have to agree, Detective and the regular Batman title are doing just fine on their own. It's almost a disservice to the current writers to let Snyder continue his Dark Knight parade. Not to mention, it's a disservice to himself. Can he not write any other character? He's making himself one-dimensional. He'll be Dan Slott pretty soon, on a character too long and then screw it all up. Superman Unchained was awesome. Try out some different stuff for a change. I'd rather see that than a mediocre book that's just a cash grab.
But the thing is, why do we need an all star title? There is no need for that, mostly because of how the Rebirth stories are following. The only reason for an All Star Batman title to be created is to grow Snyder's ego.
I really hoped that he would lead minor characters, because he has potencial. Unfortunately his ego doesn't allow it to happen...
I didn't find the WW and Steve Trevor title appealing either and Trinity is great! I think that it would be better if the WW title splitted in two titles, since two stories are being told simultaneously.
I have read All-Star Batman and I honestly think it a a great title! I disagree that the series takes anything away from the other two batman series which are both fantastic. One of the big draws for me is that it is not as heavily connected to the dcu and the other batman series, it is just a fun romp of crazy action/themes where Snyder can continue to share the ideas he had! I think they should do this more with others, I want an All-Star WW, or GL! I do agree that I would like to see Scott work on other characters, He has the appeal to make other characters big. I would like to see him do a team series like the Outsiders or Justice League! I don't know if others agree but for me JL is a steaming piece of shit! Bryan Hitch is not cutting it. I can't believe how DC is dropping the ball on that series with the movie coming out this year!
I agree with you, the JL title is terrible. DC should work on this title to attract new readers. It really is a shame =/

Alright now! It's Batman and the Outsiders!!!!!!!!! So does that mean we'll see more of them in the future? I certainly hope so. Was a fan of them back in the 1980s.
As for artwork, JRJR was definitely off his game but Jim Lee was amazing. Kubert was...ok.
Great stuff. Wonderful art, amazing storytelling. Yep, this is why I collect comics. That hook is in deep. If you are a DC fan this is simply a must read.
