Other Stories:Aquaman: Aquaman Teams Up With Aqua-BoyGreen Arrow: The Comic Book ArcherEveryone needs a friend, even the King of Atlantis, so writer Robert Bernstein and artist Ramona Fradon provided a lifelong pal for Aquaman in a back up tale in this issue. The sea king found a young Atlantean boy - identified as such by his purple eyes - who was exiled from the city due to his fear fo marine life. The boy was dubbed Aqualad, and through Aquaman's guidance, he eventually accepted that fish were friends, not foes. In return he helped his mentor to rescue a plane in distress by telepathically instructing dozend of luminous fish to create an emergency landing strip. His phobia conquered, Aqualad was returned home to Atlantis, though he quickly decided that he much preferred swimming side by side with Aquaman.
