Lori was a criminal in jail that was offered release in return for participating in Roxxon experiments. The experiment was successful and gave Lori superpowers, but unbeknownst to both Roxxon and herself, she was pregnant at the time. Years later, Lori and her daughter used their powers to go on a crime spree. However, their attempts at robbery were foiled by Spider-Man.
Although Lori Baumgartner originated in the 1610 Universe, she was permanantly displaced to the prime 616 Universe following the incursions.
