The Doctor (aka Doctor Who) is a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey. Using a time-travelling space ship called the TARDIS, The Doctor explores the universe and saves civilisations from a variety of foes. Often The Doctor is accompanied by a companion that has been picked up in a previous exploration.

The Doctor is Time Lord from the planet Galifrey that is at least 2000 years old. Although the exact age varies depending on who is giving the answer. The Doctor has survived this long because, when his/her current form sustains a mortal injury the body regenerates into a new form.
