Air Wave

Larry Jordan was the first hero to go by the name Air Wave.  He fought during World War II as a member of the All-Star Squadron.  Upon his death, his helmet was passed along to his son, Harold "Hal" Jordan, who became the third Air Wave.  His brother Martin Jordan was an Air Force test pilot, an employee of Ferris Aircraft and father to Hal Jordan, aka Green Lantern.
