Frederick Slade is a member of the Apocalypse-descendant cult Clan Akkaba, which he restarted after the original Clan was decimated by Dracula and his vampires. In addition to the molecular rearrangement powers common to Akkaba clan members, Frederick had teleportation powers.
Following the destruction of the original Clan, Ozymandias set up Frederick with a prostitute named Miss Ferguson in London. This tryst produced a child and thus Frederick is the great-grandfather of Clarice Ferguson (Blink). She inheirited his teleportation abilities and pink hair.
