Harvey Jessup, a scientist from Central City, California, was colleagues with Reed Richards. While Richards went on to become the leader of the superheroes known as the Fantastic Four, Jessup began using his expertise in nuclear energy to work for the Republic Oil and Gas Company (later known as Roxxon).
