Harvey Jessup, a scientist from Central City, California, was colleagues with Reed Richards. While Richards went on to become the leader of the super-heroes known as the Fantastic Four, Jessup began using his expertise in nuclear energy to work for the Republic Oil and Gas Company (later known as Roxxon).
