Thatcher worked for Keystone Motors for 24 years on the assembly line. He lost his job when the company switched to intelligent robots, designed with the help of S.T.A.R. Labs, to manufacture their automobiles. Thatcher felt it necessary to get revenge on his former employer. He staged a car accident involving two government vehicles carrying explosives and stole the explosives, which he then used to blow up the Keystone Motors factory and S.T.A.R. Labs.
His final target was a yacht party held by his former employer's CEO, William Slout. During this attempt, he was killed by the Griffin.
