When the Force-sensitive Zeen Mrala was brought to the Starlight Beacon after a Nihil attack on Trymant IV, Sy argued that she should be allowed to stay despite being too old for Jedi training because she had befriended Talisola and the other apprentices. Later, they participated in a skirmish in the Bright Jewel system against Nihil forces alongside Yoda and Torban Buck.
