Mondo Gecko appears—along with Herman the Hermit Crab—as recruits for the foundation of a mutant army, Old Hob selected in order to seize control of the streets of New York City. Because he was mutated by other mutants, he has suffered relatively little trauma in his short life. Again Mondo uses a skateboard and makes new friends easily, such as Michelangelo and Seymour Gutz.
