S.H.A.Z.A.M. was a magical entity that consisted of six teenagers. Together, they could turn into the magical champion known as Captain Thunder.

During the events of Flashpoint, time was rewritten and Billy Batson never became Captain Marvel. The new Marvel Family consisted of six children who were caught on a subway car that took them to the Rock of Eternity, and The Wizard Shazam instead granted the power to all six children, each with a different aspect of the power of "Captain Thunder".
An Asian-American boy named Eugene Choi possessed the wisdom of Solomon, an overweight Latino boy named Pedro Peña possessed the strength of Hercules, Mary Batson possessed the stamina of Atlas, Freddy Freeman possessed the power of Zeus, Billy Batson possesses the courage of Achilles, and a young African-American girl named Darla Dudley possessed the speed of Mercury.
By saying the wizard's name together, the six children possessed the collective ability to turn into Captain Thunder. Thunder had a scarred face which he claimed was due to an encounter with Queen Wonder Woman.
After Billy Batson was murdered by the Amazonians, the team was rendered unable to continue.
