History
During the Magistrate's reign over Gotham City, Barda was captured and held in one of their detention facilities. While there, she defended the powerless Jimmy Olsen from the facility's other dangerous prisoners. She later helped rebel against the Magistrate, and free the prisoners.
Hundreds of years later, having returned to her home in the Fourth World, Barda ascended to the throne of New Genesis as its Highmother. She joined the Quintessence and tried to protect the multiverse from the Unkindness.
At the end of time itself, New Genesis was destroyed by the Undoing, leaving Barda's former master Darkseid as the Highfather of the New Gods. Big Barda pleaded with him to try and stop the Undoing, but Darkseid refused, leaving both Barda and all of Apokolips to die.
