Todd McFarlane has unveiled the new creative team for Haunt that will continue after Robert Kirkman and Greg Capullo end their run with Haunt #18, writer/artists Joe Casey and Nathan Fox (Dark Reign: Zodiac). Speaking to USAToday, McFarlane explained the new direction he hopes to take with the new creative team on the book, "I didn't think we had hit that word yet in terms of being dark and moody and creepy in some of the things."
McFarlane had trouble deciding whether or not he should devote his time to Haunt. In the end, he has chosen to continue working on the script for a brand new Spawn film and has entrusted the Haunt series to Casey and Fox. The two seem eager to shake up the series.
"Kirkman and Co. provided us with plenty of cool toys to play with, but Nathan and I are like bulls in a china shop so you have to expect a bit of breakage. Plus, this isn't the creative musical chairs that tends to occur at Marvel and DC. Todd wants us here for the long haul, and we're happy to oblige. So we're just settling in for a nice, dark ride that I hope lasts years," Casey said.
Their work begins with Haunt #19, releasing to stores on September 21st.
