Though FOX's upfront presentation is next week, reports suggest that the network has chosen to pass on the television adaptation of Locke & Key. The adaptation of the horror/supernatural comic book series from Joe Hill and IDW Publishing is one of five pilots the network passed on when it revamped its scheduled Tuesday evening.
THR claims that the pilot will be shopped to other networks, so it's not completely dead yet. AMC, FX, HBO and Showtime have all seen success airing dark serialized TV shows in the past and could be interested in adding this one to their schedule. If not, a retooling could be in order.
The pilot was produced by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Star Trek, Transformers) and written by Josh Friedman (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles). Locke & Key starred Jesse McCartney (Young Justice), Nick Stahl (Sin City) and Mirando Otto (The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers)
