Cartoon Network and DC Entertainment to launch DC Nation

Green Lantern and Young Justice to be a part of the block and maybe more.

dc nation

After the success of several television shows on Cartoon Network, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. are looking to collaborate once more on an experimental broadcasting block on the network called DC Nation. The announcement was made earlier today at Cartoon Network's upfront presentation.

Much like the network's Adult Swim programming, DC Nation will serve as a medium for the company to experiment. "We'll be diving deeper into the DC Universe with characters you'd never expect us to animate," DC Comics Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns explained.

“We and our partners at WBTV are thrilled that fans will be able to immerse themselves in DC’s phenomenal stories, experience a wide spectrum of amazing characters and stay up-to-date on the latest happenings of the world’s greatest superheroes and their creators, both on-air and online,” said President of DC Entertainment, Diane Nelson.

During the promotional reel for DC Nation, footage from the in-development Blue Beetle TV series made an appearance hinting that DC Nation could provide the company an outlet to experiment on live action TV shows as well. Diane Nelson told TVGuide.com, "It's not necessarily limited to traditional 2D or CG animation — there could be stop motion, there could be live action, whatever suits the character."
