SDCC: Grant Morrison's New Series is Batman Inc.

Yanick Paquette Will Draw the Batman Team Book

Grant Morrison

We had heard that Grant Morrison would be staying on as writer of one Batman book and today during the Batman: The Return panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Morrison spilled the beans. He will be writing a new book titled Batman Inc. Yanick Paquette, who recently drew Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne #3 will be joining Morrison on the book.

October's Batman: The Return one-shot will serve as a lead in to both Batman Inc. and David Finch's new book Batman: The Dark Knight. Comic Book Resources reports that Morrison gave a brief description of the book during the Batman: The Return panel:

"All I'm going to tell you up front is basically it's almost a team book," explained Morrison. "I was looking at the Brave and the Bold cartoon which I love and I wanted to do that kind of thing—Batman with other people. We're come up with a structure that lets us do kind of a team book."

On the DC Universe: The Source blog, Batman Group Editor Mike Marts had this to say about Batman Inc.:

“Everything’s been leading to this. Bruce Wayne made his long journey home in THE RETURN OF BRUCE WAYNE. Then Gotham City’s protector came back in BATMAN: THE RETURN. Now comes BATMAN INC.–the next phase of the Dark Knight as only mastermind writer Grant Morrison could imagine it. Joined on art by Yanick Paquette, this brand-new monthly series starring Batman and an unexpected supporting cast is sure to shock and surprise!”

Who do you think will be on Batman's team? More importantly, are you on board for another Batman book?
