New Injustice: Gods Among Us Details & Media

Harley Quinn and others take the spotlight in new artwork and videos

injustice gods among us 360 ps3

With E3 well under way, NetherRealm Studios and WB Games have been busy showing off early demos from their new fighting game franchise, Injustice: Gods Among Us. Though the title is set to hit the Xbox 360, WiiU, and PS3 in 2013, the team was keen on giving fans some morsels of details to ease add to the pain of a year-long wait.

Most importantly, NetherRealm are really upping their ante for this DC-only title. Don't expect this to be just a rehash of the last Mortal Kombat without the blood. Each and every superhero/villain will have a completely unique and deep move-set. Harley Quinn can utilize her massive mallet, drop a pie-bomb below her foes, and fire pistols. When near environmental objects like cars, she smashes her opponent into the windshield. On the flip side, someone like Wonder Woman can hover and grapple enemies with her lasso or be more direct with her sword and shield combo. And instead of thrashing someone into the car, she chooses to lift the car over her head and crush her enemy with it.

Beyond differences like those, Ed Boon promises that there will be tons of special moves that mimick even the most epic comics and movies. We'll see super moves in the vein of the X-Ray moves in Mortal Kombat, but with a DC twist. Just from the trailer you can see Superman punching a foe into orbit and then slamming them back down. And that's really just a taste of what they have planned for the characters. Can you just imagine what they'd implement for The Flash or Batman?

Stay tuned for more details as E3 continues and don't forget to check out the new artwork and videos above and below. Gameplay footage below via Gamespot.
