Willa Holland to play Thea Queen in The CW's Arrow

More than any other cable network, The CW is aware of all the necessary ingredients which go into making a commercially successful formula. They know their audience well and how to meet their expectations. Which is why it comes as no surprise that they're casting the leads of the Green Arrow TV series, Arrow, using familiar faces. First it was Supernatural's Katie Cassidy, who was cast yesterday as Dinah "Laurel" Lance. Today, Deadline reports that Willa Holland (Gossip Girl) has now joined the cast as Thea Queen.

Thea has been described as Oliver's rambunctious younger sister who has to come to terms with Oliver's return. She loved her big brother with all her heart, and is delighted to have him back in her life after the infamous yachting voyage. Still, she's older now and she's spreading her wings, experimenting with drugs and boys.

Willa Holland joins Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen), David Ramsey (John Diggle), Susanna Thompson (Moira Queen), and Katie Cassidy (Dinah "Laurel" Lance) in The CW's Arrow.
