Kotobukiya shows off their Spider-Man Fine Art Statue

Last year, Japanese comic book collectible manufacturer Kotobukiya unveiled their plans to expand their 1:6th scale Fine Art Statue series to include Spider-Man and Venom (Eddie Brock). They initially teased us with some striking concept artwork that showcased sculptor Erick Sosa's skill at creating dynamic masterpieces. Unfortunately, its Q3 2012 release meant we'd be waiting a long time before getting a better look.

Luckily, the Kotobukiya team was on hand for the New York Toy Fair this past week, where they presented a near final look at the Spider-Man statue. On the show floor, it was clear Kotobukiya and Sosa had outdone themselves, making significant changes from the original concept art (seen on the right). Today, they were kind enough to show off some up-close shots of their finished Spider-Man statue online so you too could see the difference.

Sculpted by Erick Sosa, the 1:6 Scale Amazing Spider-Man Series Fine Art Statue is set for release Q3 2011.
