This week, Marvel Comics teased four big announcements to be revealed during their Next Big Thing live-blog. The other day, writers Kieron Gillen and Andy Lanning discussed the first big reveal, an epic crossover entitled "Exiled" involving the Journey Into Mystery and New Mutants books. Today, Wolverine writer Jason Aaron talked about the next story arc for The Incredible Hulk, "Stay Angry".
As readers are currently seeing with the "Hulk vs. Banner" arc, Aaron has some big surprises in store that will no doubt alter the relationship dynamic between Banner and his separated alter-ego. This May, beginning in the pages of The Incredible Hulk #8, that new status quo will lead into a five-issue story that focuses on the Hulk looking for answers around the globe.
Each issue of "Stay Angry" features a new artist and a new location for the Hulk, starting with the Green Goliath in Mexico. There, he'll encounter Frank Castle, the Punisher, as he deals with the Mexican drug cartels. Which is fitting, considering PunisherMAX artist Steve Dillon is on hand for interior art on the first issue of the arc.
Beyond the Punisher, "Stay Angry" will also include appearances from Wolverine, Kraven the Hunter, and some new faces. Aaron teased that Hulk will have to deal with Atlantean mobsters, Russian super soldiers and lots of Big Foots before getting the answers he needs.
To get you pumped for "Stay Angry", Marvel has released Incredible Hulk #8 preview art by Michael Komarck.
