Hope for the big screen adaptation of the Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson comic book series, The Boys, seems to have been dashed with news of Columbia Pictures dropping the project. THR claims the studio has put the project into turnaround, forcing producers Neal H. Moritz and Jason Netter to now shop it around town.
Dynamite's ongoing comic book series from Ennis and Robertson followed a group of superpowered CIA agents known as "The Boys", who police a corrupt community of "crimefighters". Matt Manfredi, Phil Hay, and Seth Rogen had been developing a screenplay for the project for the past couple of years with rumors of Adam McKay directing and many big name actors being interested in starring roles.
Unfortunately, it looks like they, along with fans, will have to wait some time.
