Does this Avengers Movie Board Game hint at the Skrulls?

While Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, has gone on record repeatedly saying the Skrulls were absent from the Joss Whedon-directed Avengers movie, it seems some toy prototypes from this week's New York Toy Fair hint toward the opposite.

The Idle Hands blog first found these small, purple game pieces as part of an Avengers movie board game from Jakks on the show floor. The rep suggested that the game was an early prototype unlikely to make it into stores. He suggested that its game pieces may have been planned out very early in the production of the film, before changes.

MTV Geek also caught the pieces on display during the show and managed to capture a close-up of a couple of them. Notice the pointy ears and the wide chins on the pieces. 

Could the Skrulls actually be in the movie? Only time will tell.
