At the end of the year, it was revealed that Paul Levitz's Huntress mini-series was set on Earth 2, an alternate universe where she was actually Helena Kyle, the daughter of Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle (based on the Bronze Age character of the same name). The series hinted DC Comics' plans for an expanded multiverse. It wasn't until DC's announcement of a "Second Wave" of books that it became clear that Huntress would play a bigger role in the New 52 multiverse.
Today, DC has given us a preview of George Perez's cover artwork for Worlds' Finest #1 that shows off Huntress and Power Girl's new looks. It also hints at the possibility of Power Girl being the Supergirl of Earth 2 alongside Helena's Robin. The series from writer Paul Levitz will follow both Huntress and Power Girl as they struggle to find their way home to Earth 2.
Worlds' Finest will connect with James Robinson's Earth 2 series that focuses on the JSA's adventures on the parallel world. And while we haven't seen what the JSA will look like, DC was willing to part with a preview of the Ivan Reis and Joe Prado variant cover for the first issue coming this May.
But before both of those, there will be a short back-up within Action Comics #9 from artists Cully Hamner and Gene Ha, with writer Sholly Fisch. The back-up will act as the first multiverse story centering on a very different Superman of a parallel world defending his planet against a menace from the DC multiverse. Get a glimpse of Ha's Inks and Hamner's pencils for the story to the right.
