One of the biggest priorities for DC Comics with their New 52 relaunch was to release their monthly issues in a timely fashion.
If there's anything we can take away from DC Comics' regular rotations of writers and artists, it's that the comic book publisher is keen on finding perfect combinations of writers and artists. Last week, we had heard that Jeff Lemire, Gregg Hurwitz, Peter Milligan, and Matt Kindt would be swapping books. Today, DC announced some artists would be swapping books beginning with their ninth issues.
This May, Birds of Prey artist Jesus Saiz will be jumping onto Resurrection Man, bringing a fresh, new look to the series with writers Andy Lanning and Dan Abnett. Resurrection Man #9 will be the first issue featuring a Suicide Squad crossover as Amanda Waller has her sights on Mitch Shelley. Saiz's cover artwork for the issue is above.
Meanwhile, Resurrection Man's previous artist, Fernando Dagnino, will take over where Saiz left off. He'll handle illustrations on Suicide Squad #9 and beyond, once the crossover is over and done with.
With Jesus Saiz off of Birds of Prey, Animal Man penciller Travel Foreman will take over art duties beginning with Birds of Prey #9, where the Night of the Owls event/crossover takes place.
Foreman has been out of action for some of Animal Man, due in part to some personal matters. Steve Pugh had filled in to ensure the book hit all deadlines and now that Foreman is taking on Birds of Prey, Pugh will stay on Animal Man full time.
