The Lizard May Be The Villain In The Spider-Man Reboot

Despite not having any official confirmation or denial of the Jamie Bell as Spider-Man rumor, it appears the same source is saying they may know the first villain for the Spider-Man reboot. Dr. Curt Connors, aka The Lizard.

Bleeding Cool reports that they're hearing The Lizard may be the studio's villain pick for the reboot movie and he may be played by actor Michael Fassbender. Who is also rumored to be 20th Century Fox's choice for Magneto in the upcoming X-Men: First Class reboot.

Before Fox decided to reboot the Spider-Man franchise, previous director and producer Sam Raimi intended on unleashing The Lizard in a fourth or fifth movie. Dylan Baker had been among the cast beginning Spider-Man 2 as Dr. Curt Conners, yet was never given a chance to become the villain from the comics.

How this rumor pans out will be interesting. He's certainly a villain that deserves to get the film treatment, but perhaps would be better served in a sequel. Personally, I'd love to see Conners from Amazing Spider-Man's Shed story up on the silver screen.
