It looks like it won't be much longer before we see The CW's Arrow TV series. Deadline reports that the network has found their Oliver Queen with the casting of Stephen Amell (Private Practice, The Vampire Diaries).
Lately, Amell has had recurring roles on ABC's Private Practice and HBO's Hung. He'll star as the reformed Star City bad boy and billionaire industrialist-turned-outspoken politician who moonlights as a vigilante superhero known as Green Arrow. He'll be directed by David Nutter, who is operating on a pilot script from writer/producer Andrew Kreisberg, Greg Berlanti, and Marc Guggenheim.
Though the series is based on the DC Comics character, it's still unclear how close the series will get to the comic books. Last week's casting breakdown hinted to fans that they should expect Black Canary's alter-ego, Dinah Lance, playing an important role in the show.
