For the past week, there's been quite a buzz about a new logo coming from DC Entertainment that would make its way onto virtually everything and anything from the company (it's films, comics, toys, etc). Today, DC made it official - they're getting a new brand identity, beginning this March.
Designed by Landor Associates, the new identity was devised to take advantage of DC's vast array of products, giving it a unique look fitting for each. "It was our goal to capture DC Entertainment in a dynamic and provocative identity. Our solution is a living expression which changes and adapts to the characters, story lines and the ways fans are consuming content. The new identity is built for the digital age, and can easily be animated and customized to take full advantage of the interactivity offered across all media platforms,” explains Nicolas Aparicio, Executive Creative Director at Landor in San Francisco.
Supposedly, in some cases, people will actually be able to peel back the logo (on your PC, smart phone, tablet, etc).
With the reveal, they released a few mockups along with some of the variations the logo will be used for. What do you think? Chime in with your thoughts below.
