20th Century Fox has been trying to get their Fantastic Four reboot off the ground for some time. Now, it appears the studio may have a frontrunner to helm the project.
Variety reports that early screenings of Chronicle have given them immense confidence in director Josh Trank. Insiders suggest studio execs have had several meetings with Trank to discuss their interest in having him work on the Marvel Superhero flick.
Chronicle, his debut feature is three weeks away during Super Bowl weekend and it's likely that Fox is waiting until then to see how well it fares. Regardless, they'd like to continue working with him on another project.
Should an offer be made, Trank would be working with a script from Michael Green. Green recently helped pen the Green Lantern film for Warner Bros. Pictures. Trank would be taking over from director Tim Story, who helmed the previous two films for the studio.
