We've known for quite some time that The CW has been looking for a new TV series to fill the gap that Smallville left after it finished. The network has been combing the DC Comics vault in search of a new superhero and it seems they've got their sights on Green Arrow. EW's InsideTV claims that they're edging closer to a pilot order for a series based on the Emerald Archer.
However, they suggest that this new series would not feature Justin Hartley (pictured right), the soap star that garnered a fairly large fanbase by starring as the Green Arrow in the Smallville TV series. Instead, producers Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim, the same team behind the Green Lantern film, along with Andrew Kreisberg (Fringe) are cooking up something brand new.
With a Green Arrow TV in development, he joins fellow DC superheroes Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Deadman, and Spectre, all of which have a series currently underway. Here's hoping he doesn't end up like The CW's Aquaman pilot or NBC's Wonder Woman.
