Universal Studios Hollywood has begun their marketing campaign to promote Transformers: The Ride 3D, launching a new website and a teaser trailer.
What we know of the ride is scarce so far, but it's clear it's based on the Michael Bay-directed trilogy and has the humans (the parkgoers), Optimus Prime and the Autobots going against Megatron and his Decepticons as they attempt to steal the All Spark. Transformers: The Ride 3D will utilize cutting edge 3D and flight simulation technology, similar to other rides like King Kong 3D and Universal Orlando's Harry Potter 3D ride.
Universal will be slowly peeling back the onion with an interactive website that has fans taking orders from N.E.S.T. General Morshower (played by actor Glenn Morshower from the films). The website asks fans to enlist before February 4th, when they'll dole out missions and rewards prior to the ride's debut in May.
Not anywhere near Universal Studios Hollywood? Don't fret, comic book movie fans on the other side of the US may not be getting the Transformers 3D ride at Universal Studios Orlando, but they will be getting a similar experience from an updated Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man ride, to be unveiled later this year.
