Some good news for the Booster Gold Fan Club. Syfy is looking to bring DC's Booster Gold to life on the small screen. The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the NBC Universe-owned cable network has ordered a script for a one-hour drama series based on the character.
The adaptation will be handled by Greg Berlanti's (No Ordinary Family, Green Lantern) production company, Berlanti Productions. Berlanti will be attached as an executive producer with Andrew Kreisberg (Fringe) penning the script for the pilot.
The story will follow a washed-up athlete from the future who travels back in time to become the greatest superhero of all time, Booster Gold. Of course, like the Booster fans know and love, his focus will be on fame and fortune.
The series would mark the second appearance of the character in a live-action series. He last appeared in the final season of Smallville, played by Soap star Eric Martsolf.
