Kryptonian Faora on the set of Man of Steel

New photos from the set of Zack Snyder's Man of Steel movie have surfaced on Facebook. The latest batch shows off what looks to be a battle between Superman and the female Kryptonian villain, Faora, played by Antje Traue. Previous set photos and the first photo of actor Henry Cavill in the Superman costume made it difficult to determine whether or not the costume would feature the iconic red underwear. Now we know they've done away with the underwear much like DC's upcoming New 52 relaunch.

His costume aside, other websites have reported the left figure facing Superman as Michael Shannon. However, other leaked set photos reveal it to be a stuntman who looks to be playing a rather large enemy. Shannon has been seen wearing similar motion capture suits on the set, but has done all mo-cap work himself and without the stick above his head. The stick extending above the stuntman's head is there as a reference point for the actors. Without it, Cavill would be staring at the villain's chest throughout the film. The top of the stick represents its head and using it is common in films featuring tall characters.

So if it's not General Zod, could this be a Kryptonian monster or even Doomsday? One could hope.
