First Photo of Henry Cavill as Superman

Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first photo of Henry Cavill in the Superman costume for Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel movie. Henry Cavill is featured in a bank vault action scene wearing the iconic Superman suit. Surprisingly, the suit takes its inspiration from both the classic comic book costume and the one we've seen used in the upcoming New 52 DC Comics relaunch.

In Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, Henry Cavill plays Clark Kent / Superman, who will go up against villain General Zod played by actor Michael Shannon. They join a cast that also includes Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Diane Lane & Kevin Costner as Martha & Jonathan Kent, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, and the just announced Laurence Fishburne will be joining the cast as Perry White. Filming has reportedly begun in Chicago. 

Man of Steel will hit theaters June 14th, 2013.
