Laurence Fishburne cast as Perry White in Man of Steel

In a surprising twist, Entertainment Weekly reports that Director Zack Snyder has found his Perry White in Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix) for the upcoming Superman reboot, Man of Steel. 

Throughout comic book history, Perry White has typically been the Editor-in-Chief at the Daily Planet working with his star reporters, Clark Kent and Lois Lane. Previously, Frank Langella played White in Bryan Singer's Superman Returns movie and actor Jackie Cooper in the original Superman: The Movie. This will mark the first time the character has been played by an African American.

Man of Steel is expected to arrive in theaters June 14th, 2013 starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Diane Lane, Russell Crowe and many others.
