With four issues under their collective belt, Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis are doing their best work on this DCnU relaunch since the Green Lantern days, and that is saying something.
-
Mostly set in the murky depths of the sea, we see Aquaman and Mera in their element, and the events of their battle are visually stunning as well as backed with compelling storytelling.
-
A perfectly enjoyable, functional story, though Johns misses opportunities to really hit home runs with his material.
-
Aquaman #4 is is a good issue overall, even with the stumbles, clearly focusing Aquaman’s latest personality and status quo...
-
With Johns taking it to the mat and Reis serving up delicious art, Aquaman could be the book to watch in 2012.
-
Aquaman fans can rejoice. Their favorite character is finally cool again.
-
It’s nice to see that Geoff Johns is capable of wrapping up a storyline in less than six issues.
-
I'm a big fan of stories not being stretched out beyond a needed length, but "Aquaman" actually feels like it could have used a fifth issue for "The Trench" and still satisfied readers.
-
So excellent beginning to what hopefully becomes a long string of great stories for the reinvigorated King of the Seas!
